Constellations
 Constellations are formations of stars in the sky that are believed to create certain pictures. If you look on a clear night you will be able to spot some of them. It is believed it was these constellations that helped travelers at night be able to go the right direction. You may be able to come up with your own pictures in the sky at night just as a person does with the formations of clouds.
 Yet there are many great constellations that have been sighted by man and they are part of history. There are a total of 88 recognized constellations in the sky. Most of them are linked to some type of mythological story. In fact, it is believed that it was the discovery of these constellations that often lead to magnificent tales being told about them.
 The most well known and easiest to spot of all the constellations is the Big Dipper and the Little Dipper. Many people love the story of Draco who was said to be the last of the great dragons. He shared his heart with an evil boy who was king so the brave dragon had to die to save the people.
 Many people also love the stories with Pegasus who was a horse who had wings to fly. She is often part of the stories with Perseus who battles with Medusa and wins. The Big Bear and Little Bear are also well known constellations that people search for. With many of them you will only be able to see them at certain times of the year. This is when they will line up for the images to be outlined in the sky.
 Should you have an evening to spend gazing up at the stars, try to look for the various constellations? It can be very fun to do and you will find that once you locate one you can usually find it again with ease the next time. You can get an astronomy book too that will help to guide you in your initial search for them. You can also find out more about the legends behind each of the different constellations that you find in the sky.

Stars
 When you seen one moving rapidly it is falling from the sky. It will never reach the Earth though as they gases from it burn up long before then. It is tradition to make a wish when you see a falling star. How well you are able to see the stars at night with the naked eye depends on the cloud cover as well as the pollution in your area.
 Many of the stars are billions of years old according to the research that experts have conducted on them. The oldest one is believed to be just over thirteen billion years old. The sun is the largest star out there and one that is bright enough to burn even in the daylight. Stars are the formation of balls of gas that are able to stay in place due to the way gravity works in space. They are classified by age, their size, and the temperature.
 While stars may look like nothing more than twinkling diamonds in the sky, they are certainly much more complex than that. They are full of gases and they are full of energy. The heat given off from a star can be more than 500,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

 Super Giants
 Super giants are a classification of stars that have been categorized based on their large mass. However, those stars that have a large mass tend to burn much faster than others. This is why many types of stars can live for billions of years while a super giant will not have as long of a lifespan. It is believed that the first real stars in space were super giants. As more gases were collected there other types of stars were able to form and survive as well.
 Super giants don’t have any hydrogen found in their core, and this is what sets them apart from other types of stars. Some types of stars will use up their hydrogen and then change categories. They will then develop more than ten times their original mass. It is very difficult for that exact amount to be determined though.
 Super giants are easy to spot as they will have red in them. This is due to their large mass as well as to the fact that they burn so hot. Some of them may become so hot that they explode in space. Some experts theorize that the explosion of super giants is what creates black holes that are found to exist in areas of outer space.
 There has been plenty of work done to examine the super giants from the inside out. They consist of several layers of materials. The outer layer is a protective shell and though it contains helium it isn’t actively doing anything. The next layer has helium that is fused with carbon. There will be several layers of this with a super giant until you reach the core. The core consists of iron.
 As the super giant continues to burn at very hot temperatures, the outer layers will burn away. Once only the iron is left the star has no way to make any more energy. Within a couple of weeks it will completely be burned out.

 Neutron Stars
 Neutron stars are the result of other stars that have collapsed due to their own heat. They are extremely hot stars that are very small. They are merely pieces of what was once a very large star. The size of the pieces that form the neutron stars though can vary greatly in size. This process was first documented in 1932 Sir James Chadwick. His information regarding neutron stars resulted in him winning the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1935. It was considered to be quite a remarkable breakthrough.
 It is believed that neutron stars move very quickly through space. What is fascinating is that most of them have a rotation that they adhere to. This is due to the gravitational pull that is found from the energy within the neutron stars. You can get dizzy watching them as they can rotate at a speed of hundreds of times each second. In order for researchers to define the rotation they have to record it and slow it down for viewing.
 Most neutron stars don’t last for very long due to the very small amount of energy that they contain. It is estimated that there is about 2,000 of them at any given time found along the Milky Way. It can be hard to really research them due to the fast life they have from start to finish and their speed.
 From what has been gathered about neutron stars though they are very complex in how they operate. They initial development of them is very simple but that is where it ends. They seem to gravitate to areas where White Dwarf stars are due to their gravitational pull. The neutron stars have very little gravitational pull on their own and so they tend to want to become a part of what other stars have to offer.
 Neutron stars are said to have a mass that is 1 ½ times of the sun. If the neutron star was to be on Earth it would weigh about a billion tons for each tablespoon of it. That is an amazing amount of weight and when you consider how they spin around in space it definitely shows us the difference between our gravitational pull and what is out there.

 White Dwarf Stars
 Stars are made up of gases and energy that they use for fuel. The brighter a given star is the faster it will burn up the amount of energy that it has available. Once they do so they are categorized as White Dwarf stars. They have burned off the outer layers of it and so all that is left is the very hot center of the star called the core. It can continue to burn in this form for at least another million years or so.
 The first written documentation of what is classified as a White Dwarf star was found to be dated back to 1783. Even though they didn’t have a name for it they were able to document information about what they were finding. There were two of them found and the pair was called Eridani B and Eridani C.
 They are often very large stars that you will find in the sky. That make since the larger stars will be burning up more of their energy than the smaller ones. They are very interesting to researchers and a great deal about them still remain unknown. They are believed to be the densest type of stars in the universe.
 They also believe that White Dwarf stars have a very similar mass to that of the sun. They are also believed to be larger in size than the entire Earth. Most people don’t realize that such large forms of stars are out there. Most of us just think of the sun as a very large star and then the rest of them as very small since that is how we see them from the Earth. Researchers believe that about 6% of all of the stars in the sky fit the profile of being a White Dwarf.
